Lion Tamer

A circus owner runs an ad for a lion tamer and two people show up.

One is a good looking, old retired golfer in his late 60’s and the other is a gorgeous blonde in her mid-twenties.

The circus owner tells them, “I’m not going to sugar coat it. This is one ferocious lion. He ate my last tamer so you two had better be good or you’re history. Here’s your equipment — chair, whip and a gun. Who wants to try out first?” The girl says, “I’ll go first.”

MELBOURNE—A new study conducted by a team at La Trobe University in Melbourne has found that regular marijuana usage can lead to decreased sexual performance in men, including an inability to orgasm.

The research team analyzed data collected as part of a 2005 telephone survey of 8,656 Australians of both genders between the ages of 16 to 64. Overall, 8.7 percent of respondents said they had gotten high in the last year, with twice as many men (11.2 percent) admitting to marijuana use as women (6.1 percent). Results are revealed that respondents under 36 were more likely to smoke marijuana than older participants.

For males who smoked weed daily, the results indicated they were four times less likely to reach orgasm. However, many of the correlations between marijuana use and sexual performance were made after accounting for factors such as age, tobacco and alcohol use, and occupation.

According to Sharon Johnson, an epidemiologist at the University of Missouri St. Louis, who also has found associations between drug use and sexual problems, the new study does not establish a cause-effect relationship between marijuana and sexual performance.

“There is a more complicated relationship out there somewhere,” she said.

It is also unclear what kinds of pot the respondents were smoking. It is well known that different strains of cannabis affect the mind and body differently, and that many blends are created to specifically activate feelings of both mental and physical euphoria, including sexual feelings.

Interestingly, even though many male smokers reported sexual problems, they also said they had more partners than non-smokers. Indeed, marijuana users were more likely to have had two or more sex partners in the previous year than men who didn’t smoke pot.

Female smokers reported an even stronger trend toward increased sexual activity, and were seven times more likely to have been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection in the last year than non-smokers. However, researchers found that female smokers had no more problems in the bedroom than abstainers.

It seems as if more research may be needed on the subject.

Model’s Fingers Were Cut Off And Her Teeth Removed

from www.people.com – After Ryan Jenkins eluded an international manhunt and slipped across the Canadian border to flee this country, authorities in Orange County, Calif. charged the TV reality star Thursday with his wife’s strangulation mutilation-murder and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Jenkins, 32, who stars in VH1’s Megan Wants a Millionaire, was wanted in the strangulation death of Jasmine Fiore, 28, whose nude body was found in a dumpster last weekend. Her fingers and teeth had been removed, officials said at an emotional news conference attended by Fiore’s friends and family. LAPD found enough evidence to charge Jenkins, 32, for the strangulation murder.

The case began when Jenkins, a multiple VH1 reality show player including Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money, filed a missing persons report for his ex-wife Fiore in West Hollywood.

Later that same day police found her body in Buena Park, 30 miles away.

Investigators initially considered Jenkins a “person of interest” but by the time they arrived at his home to question the suspect he had already fled the area in his SUV with a small boat attached.

After a witness in a small town in Blaine, Washington saw the suspect “acting suspiciously”, and another saw him board a boat at the town’s marina, Canadian law enforcement was called in.

“It’s believed he was able to successfully cross the border to Canada on foot,” a spokesman for the Whatcom County, Washington Sheriff’s Office told media.

“Ryan Jenkins is an animal,” said Robert Hasman, a former boyfriend of Fiore’s. “What he has done to Jasmine is unspeakable.”

Authorities believe Jenkins has fled to his native Canada, walking across the Washington state border.

Orange County District Attorney spokeswoman Farrah Emami tells PEOPLE that Jenkins would have to be apprehended and extradited for any trial to proceed. Emami also says there is no special circumstance attached to the charge that would make Jenkins eligible for the death penalty. Canada would therefore have no reason to resist extraditing Jenkins once he is captured, she says.

No possible motive was offered by authorities. At the press conference, Fiore’s friends and family broke into tears when the condition of her body was described.

A real-life millionaire, Jenkins got a quick wedding to Fiore, who had done swimsuit modeling and promotional work for Playboy, on March 18 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. “They seemed happy. I don’t remember much. The wedding wasn’t very long,” says chapel worker Lorenzo Savignano, who served as an official witness. “They said their vows, they were regular vows. At the end they hugged and kissed and seemed very happy.”

He adds: “They were sober. If people are drunk we won’t let them get married.”

Fiore’s mother later told reporters the marriage was annulled, but there’s no record of that in Las Vegas courts.

In June, Jenkins was charged in Nevada with misdemeanor “battery constituting domestic violence” for allegedly striking Fiore in the arm. A court date was set for December.

AIDS Healtcare Foundation Files Complaints Against 16 Porn Companies; From Hustler To Club Jenna

From www.latimes.com – Vowing “never to stop pushing” for condom use in porn, AIDS Healthcare Foundation officials said Wednesday that they plan to file complaints today with state officials against 16 California-based production companies they say have violated workplace safety laws.

The complaints will mark the latest move by the Los Angeles-based advocacy group to pressure the porn industry and government regulators to do more to safeguard the health of adult-film performers.

The foundation sued Los Angeles County last month alleging that public health officials had failed to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and to enforce laws requiring employers to protect workers against exposure to bodily fluids. The suit was filed after the disclosure that an adult film performer had tested positive for HIV.

“You can go to any porn shop or any hotel and pull up incontrovertible evidence against every one of these companies,” said Michael Weinstein, president and chief executive of the foundation. “Is there anything today that prevents them from going in and finding any of these porn sites to be dangerous workplaces?”

Foundation officials, joined by the nonprofit Pink Cross Foundation, which helps workers leave the adult industry, plan to file complaints with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health based on a review of dozens of DVDs.

Foundation spokesman Ged Kenslea said that although the survey was not scientific, they did select films made by California-based companies. Of 58 films reviewed — including Vivid Entertainment’s “Nasty as I Want to Be” and Hustler’s “This Ain’t the Partridge Family XXX” — only two included scenes with condom use.

The films were made by some of the biggest and best-known companies as well as smaller companies that specialize in gay, Asian or African American adult films.

Cal/OSHA officials declined to comment because the complaints have not yet been filed. They said they continue their own investigation into the most recent HIV case, as well as 18 additional HIV cases since 2004 reported to them by the Southland porn industry’s primary health clinic. The state has subpoenaed patient records, but that access is being challenged in court by the American Civil Liberties Union, which has alleged a violation of patient privacy.

Industry officials have downplayed the seriousness of the most recent HIV case, which appears to be isolated to one female performer. They argue that voluntary guidelines requiring monthly tests for sexually transmitted diseases and quarantines for anyone who tests positive have kept performers safe.

“The industry has done an admirable job of policing itself,” said Steve Hirsch, founder of Vivid Entertainment, adding that he does not believe the industry should be held to the same bodily fluid regulations as a hospital. “If Los Angeles County chooses to enforce mandatory condoms, what you’ll see is all adult production leave California. It will move to other places.”

Some who have left the industry report a darker side.

Former adult film performer Shelly Lubben, founder of the Pink Cross Foundation, said she contracted herpes and became infected with the human papillomavirus, or HPV, while working in the industry and had to have half of her cervix removed.

“We want the fans to know what they’re contributing to,” she said. “They’re demanding harder and grosser porn. We want to educate them to exactly what they’re watching — diseased people. . . . It’s illegal for bodily fluids to touch skin, and yet it happens every single day in the porn industry.”

“Rielle had no choice but to demand John take a DNA test,” said the close friend.

“She was worried about getting long-term financial support for her daughter. So she hired an attorney, and John consented to undergo a secret swab test to establish paternity.

“There was no surprise: The results of the DNA test proved John was Frances’ daddy.”

Another source confirmed to The ENQUIRER: “John always knew he was the father of Rielle’s baby.

“Despite the ongoing financial negotiations, sources say Rielle testified against Edwards in front of the grand jury, spending nine hours inside the courthouse on Aug. 6 in Raleigh, N.C.

Rielle’s testimony against Edwards came as a “cooperating witness” for the government, added a source familiar with the investigation.

“Rielle is not dumb. She knew the feds had subpoenaed her bank statements and knew about every payment she received,” said the source.

“The FBI told her it was in her best interests to tell the truth, and she did. And unlike the others who have testified, Rielle was driven to the court by FBI agents and escorted in by them. She got favorable treatment because she testified against John.”

UNBELIEVABLE – Manson Follower ‘Squeaky’ Fromme Out

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Charles Manson follower convicted of trying to assassinate President Gerald Ford was released Friday from a Texas prison hospital after more than three decades behind bars.

Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, 60, left the Federal Medical Center Carswell in Fort Worth at about 8 a.m. Friday, spokeswoman Dr. Maria Douglas said. Though a few photographers had camped out since the night before outside the facility surrounded razor wire-topped fences, Fromme slipped by the group unnoticed in one of the many cars streaming in and out of the front gate Friday morning.

It was a far cry from her antics that captivated the nation’s attention 30 years ago: shaving her red hair and carving an “X” into her forehead after Manson was convicted for orchestrating a mass murder, wearing a red robe when she pulled a gun on Ford, being carried into her trial courtroom by marshals when she refused to walk.

In September 1975, Fromme pushed through a crowd, drew a semiautomatic .45-caliber pistol from a thigh holster and pointed it at Ford, who was shaking hands with well-wishers while walking to the California State Capitol in Sacramento. But Secret Service agents grabbed her and the gun, and Ford was unhurt.

Fromme, who reportedly got her nickname while in Manson’s “family,” possibly because of her voice, had become its leader. She was never implicated in the 1969 murders of actress Sharon Tate and eight others, for which Manson is serving a life term in Corcoran State Prison in California.

During her trial, Fromme refused to attend or had outbursts. Her attorney argued that she wanted to call attention to environmental issues and Manson’s case and never meant to kill Ford. A few bullets were in the gun but not in the chamber.

Fromme was convicted and got a life term, becoming the first person sentenced under a special federal law covering assaults on U.S. presidents, a statute enacted after President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 assassination.

She later was sentenced to 15 years in prison, which was tacked onto her life term for threats against the president, after escaping from a women’s prison in Alderson, W.Va., in 1987. She was recaptured two days later about two miles away after a massive search. Fromme had said she escaped from prison to be closer to Manson after hearing rumors that he was dying.

Fromme was granted parole in July 2008 for “good conduct time” but was not released until Friday because of the additional time for the prison escape, prison officials said.

She will be on parole supervision. A U.S. Parole Commission spokesman did not immediately return calls seeking comment about the terms.

Fromme had been at the Fort Worth prison since 1998. The facility specializes in providing medical and mental health services to female offenders and also has a maximum-security unit, a minimum-security camp and an area for low-security inmates, Douglas said, declining to say where Fromme had been housed.

Prison officials previously said she was placed in the maximum-security unit for inmates who have escaped or been involved in assaults.

She had spent her sentence at several prisons. Fromme started out at the West Virginia prison, then was transferred to the prison at Pleasanton, Calif., in 1978 after prison officials said she had become a “model inmate.” But she was sent back to West Virginia in 1979 as punishment for striking another inmate with a hammer while the two tended a garden on the prison grounds. She later was moved to Lexington, Ky., and then to Marianna, Fla.

Fromme declined a recent interview request from The Associated Press.

In 2005, Fromme responded to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s interview request with a 35-line letter in elegant cursive handwriting, the newspaper reported. At the time she had not sought release, although she became eligible for parole in 1985.

“I stood up and waved a gun (at Ford) for a reason,” she wrote. “I was so relieved not to have to shoot it, but, in truth, I came to get life. Not just my life but clean air, healthy water and respect for creatures and creation.”

Stephanie Swift Diagnosed with Breast Cancer

LOS ANGELES—Adult performer Stephanie Swift has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, close friend Nica Noelle has confirmed.

“Stephanie is about to face the biggest fight of her life,” Noelle said. “Everyone who loves her is devastated. We’re all praying for her full recovery.”

Swift, the AVN Female Performer of the Year in 1998 and former long-time contract girl for Wicked Pictures, has remained an active performer in movies as well as various other business ventures.

“Stephanie Swift is one of the greatest performers in the history of adult films,” said Jon B., owner of Sweetheart Video and Sweet Sinner Films. “She has starred in many of our productions, and we consider her part of the family. We’re deeply saddened by this news.”

Swift, whose only means of income is her work in adult films, will undergo a double masectomy this month. Her medical bills are expected to be overwhelming.

“We’re asking that anyone who has ever enjoyed a Stephanie Swift film, or has felt personally touched by this beautiful girl in any way, contribute to her well-being,” Noelle said. “Every little bit helps.”

More On The State Of The Industry

Continuing our look at the state of the porn industry, below are comments on one of the 4 biggest continuing education/trade shows that are put on by industry leaders during the year. The summer shows are never as big as the shows in Vegas or LA during January and February but they had always been viable shows nonetheless and although attendance has been declining across the board at all the shows, the summer Internext show had been well attended in previous years.

NL-I talked to Diamond James, here is what she had to say – Worst show I’ve ever been to. Totally disappointing. Of course you can quote me! I would like to add something too… me and two of my Girl Friends got YELLED at for taking off bikinis UNDER WATER. We weren’t even walking around naked. Just having some fun in the infiniti pool’s glass bottom. I could not believe it. Only people who could see the nudity were ATTENDEES! WTF?

NL- That was probably the most fun that happened all day! And yes, most interesting thing that happened. We had a big crowd underneath the overhang of peeps looking up at us through the glass bottom. And we were scolded. We were ordered to put our bikinis back on…even though we kept it all underwater. SO ridiculous!

NL-Who made you put your bathing suit back on ? It was actually some woman who runs the conference. And the hotel people were helping her enforce it

NL-The lack of attendance doesn’t reflect on the popularity of the convention or on AVN. It’s not their fault. The Money situation is bad everywhere and this is just a reflection of the real world. But I think they should have canceled. It was a very poor showing. I’m sure a lot of people had fun though. This is one convention full of great parties and LOTS of free drinks.

As a matter of fact tonight is the Tera Patrick party at Pangaea at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with free drinks for all girls wearing lingerie until midnight.

More and more answers are available on the net and which sponsors cutting back on the drinking budget, less people are budgeting for weekend’s like this. I did pop into the Phoenix Forum and that was well attended. I was surprised though to learn the Atlanta Forum was just canceled.

Hi Vikki. I heard from a lot of people that this show sucked. I am so glad that I didn’t attend. The Phoenix Forum is always a good show, but they have cut back on that as well the last year. I didn’t know they canceled the Atlanta Forum. Bummer.
